A red bordered, raised, curd like fleck will indicate a yeast infection. Additional symptoms are a white, filmy patch that coats the tongue and the oral cavity.
The Yeast-Bacteria Connection
Each person has yeast cells living inside them. In general, they are harmless. There are some benefits to having them. Yeast cannot proliferate in the digestive tract because of the good bacteria. The good bacteria can no longer handle the yeast when the digestive system is compromised, allowing the Candida to thrive. The yeast become toxic to the body when they mature and become Candida. The poisons that are produced will then migrate to various other body parts. Other ailments will tend to present, like an oral yeast infection, when the immune system function is decreased.
