In ancient times, traditions were born of necessity. When found to be in the best interests of people in general, a practice such as fasting or meditation would be woven into the fabric of society and become a tradition. In Asia, the Chinese needed to lose weight after beefing up over the cooler winter months. This made a body cleanse detox a ritual to prepare for the working months ahead, beginning with the dawn of spring.

Other countries such as India practiced fasting as a tradition, although they had a more philosophical approach to it’s practice. Made part of the Hindu and Buddhist rituals, cleansing the body was not enough. They also made it just as important to clear the mind of thought through meditation and become one with all things to assist the soul on it’s journey. Peace was found this way and the practice of purification took on the three fold spiritual meaning.

In western countries weight loss is such a dire health issue the practice of fasting and detoxification is most importantly taken for the physical benefits. Losing weight, ridding the body of toxins and recapturing good physical fitness are the priorities. The spiritual nature of fasting is learned more through the disciplines of Eastern religions than the teachings of western culture or religion.

It is important to learn of the negative aspects if choosing a full body cleanse program. Before a decision is made, a person should know about dehydration and how to avoid it. Other dysfunctions can occur with low levels of salts in the body. Extra vitamin supplements may be taken to assist the detox.

While the spiritual side of fasting may require a person to surrender to the peace and harmony of nature, the physical aspect needs only to be prepared for the detoxification process. Finding God or peace on earth can offer a man or woman the radiance of a saint but going through a period of fasting is a contrast in terms. People may tend to look a little haggard or pale. This can only be capitulated as part of the ongoing process of purification.

After the fasting process is over a person needs to come back to eating solids gently. Someone who has finished a fast should never go straight for the Donner Kebab shop and indulge in a huge meal. It is recommended to start eating solids slowly with the introduction of light meals.

Trying to keep up with the healthy eating when not on a program is very hard. There is a lot of temptation out there. Everywhere you look there’s a fast food shop trying to tempt another customer in with a special deal too good to refuse. This is where plan B comes into action. Maintain the shopping regime of the detox diet as a basis for each week’s grocery list. This will at least help a little with the upkeep of a “stay fit diet”.

A body cleanse is the answer to most people’s health issues. It can re-establish a healthy vitality that may have been lost over the years with all the pollution and chemicals found in the environment. A full body cleanse can also make a person feel alive again and physically in top form.
