All About Reiki Meditation

Posted by herbmaster on Jul 12, 2010 in Uncategorized

Reiki is one the latest healing trends and it’s based on ancient Japanese healing techniques. Reiki is comprised of two Japanese words, Rei and Ki and these two words have the combined meaning of Universal Energy. When you put everything together, Reiki is an ancient healing technique that channels energy through the healer to the recipient.

As opposed to Western Medicine, Reiki is an all-natural healing technique that focuses on reducing stress, improving relaxation and removing negative energy blocks throughout the body. It’s very common for negative energy to manifest in the body as physical ailments and reiki actually helps to address the root of the problem to actually remove the physical ailment, rather than cover it up with medications and pain relievers.

Reiki healing also involves the 7 Chakras found throughout the body. In case you’re unfamiliar with Chakras, the 7 Chakra centers are the:

1. Root Chakra (at the base of the spine)
2. Naval Chakra
3. Solar Plexus
4. Heart Chakra
5. Throat Chakra
6. Third Eye Chakra
7. Crown Chakra (at the top of the head)

Chakras can be thought of as energy stores found throughout the body and that’s why they’re important in reiki. Chakras receive Universal Energy and this energy is then able to be spread throughout the body by the healer.

Reiki Meditation helps to spread healing energy throughout the body. There’s not a particular type of reiki meditation, but rather it’s important to incorporate meditation into your reiki practice. Recommended types of meditating for reiki include healing meditations or chakra meditations. It’s very important to remove unwanted toxins from the body to make room for positive healing energy.

Try incorporating a daily meditation ritual into your reiki practice and you’ll undoubtedly notice a change. Realize that every new practice takes time to master and meditation is no different. They say that patience is a virtue so keep this in mind when you meditate. Meditation takes years of practice to perfect, but the benefits will start to show immediately not only in your reiki practice, but in other areas of your life as well!

Get Over A Flu Fast – 5 Simple Tips

Posted by herbmaster on Mar 22, 2010 in Uncategorized

When your sick, time can stop. While you should go to your doctor and take his advice, there are things you can do on your own to speed the healing process.

These may seem simple, but its all too easy to forget the elementary things.

1. Sleep – We’ve all heard “get lots of rest” but why? When you sleep, your body is fully at rest and can regenerate and heal. While we are sleeping, our body sheads toxins through our breath and through our skin.

2. Postive Thinking – It has been scientifically proven through the placebo effect that people who think they are getting better, will. Negative thoughts cause stress, which is the biggest threat to the immune system. If you want to heal quickly, its important to keep a positive healthy mindset.

3. Nutrition – When your sick, its easy to turn to comfort foods, or just plan forget about eating.  Its important to feul your body with essential nutrients and minerals it needs to heal. Try juices and soups – with lots of vegetables – this is easier on your stomach while giving your body the nutrition it needs to recover.

4. Let Go Of Stress – Easier said than done. Its hard to calm your thoughts when all you can think about is “what is happening to my body”. Which is why it is good to meditate (try the silva method or the sedona method if your new to meditation) and actively calm your mind.

5. Hydration – Fevers and digestive problems can easily rob your body of water faster than you realize. Alot of the time, the symptoms you feel with illness are actually symptoms of dehydration. Make sure you are getting your daily amount of water and then some. Drink hot water with lemon to rehydrate and avoid caffiene.

The great thing about these is that you can do them all at home. Not only will these steps cure what ails you, when practiced regularily, will prevent sickness.
