How Firepits and Non-Traditional Medicine are Linked

Posted by herbmaster on Sep 2, 2010 in Uncategorized

It is not a coincidence that more people have become interested in both fire pits and alternative medicine recently. With the evolution of alternative medicine, many people are turning away from the soaring expenses and constant advertisement of traditional medicine. The trend of increased consumers eager to socialize with others and lead a simple living for themselves is gaining strength now. Both cases have the public starting to question basic corporate consumerism and looking at living a more natural lifestyle.

One part of healthy living that is completely ignored by mainstream medicine is how important it is to the human body that a person practice daily mindfulness and try to stay in a positive frame of mind, both of which are much easier to do if you have a fire pit in your home. Contemporary medicine displays a nasty habit of overprescription, often in response to complaints of psychological conditions such as depression, anxiety, or stress. Medical societies are recommending the use of pills for weight loss instead of recommending simple and viable alternatives for weight loss such as healthy eating and exercise. But a fire pit, even though it is small, can do wonders for people physically and mentally.

It’s easy to forget that we are perhaps the first generation to live in houses without a fireplace that brings the household together in the evening around the fire. From the earliest days of man on into the late 20th century, natural fire pits and fireplaces were considered an essential part of a human home. It was not until the last few decades that people found themselves with no form of natural fire in their homes, which is the primary reason that fire pits have become so popular.

The types of healing arts now considered to be alternative medicine have always been practiced. Since the beginning of civilization, mankind has been treating disease and injury using a variety of natural methods, including body massage. It was not until around the same time that the home fires were extinguished that people began thinking that everything required professional medical treatment. Bearing this in mind, the reason behind the use of fire pits and holistic medicine are brought into a clear perspective.
