Resveratrol side effects are very few and rare. This compound, soon after being discovered became a subject of research for many researchers. Many experiments and studies were conducted and findings were published in many journals, but very few findings of Resveratrol side effects were published. The major reason behind it was that Resveratrol does not have any side effect at all.

If there are some side effects, they are not reported hence considered to be negligible. Here is a list of a few Resveratrol side effects which has been collected from users’ experience. Please note that there is no scientific evidence of these effects because these are very rare and not reported quite frequently

    • Sleep pattern is disturbed in some cases. This continues for a week or so but subsides soon as your system gets accustomed to Resveratrol intake. In the initial days of starting Resveratrol, total loss of sleep is also reported because of increased energy level.
    • A sudden rise in blood pressure is also noticed in people suffering from blood pressure related ailments. One should not panic because these symptoms die very soon, usually within a day or two.
    • Due to emodin content in some lesser known brands, one can feel stomach cramping and mild symptom of diarrhea. It also happens because of overdose of Resveratrol. Cares should be taken not take Resveratrol in excess quantity.
    • In some cases if you do not drink tea, coffee or any caffeine based drink you may feel caffeine like high or rush. It is not felt by those who take tea or coffee regularly. This symptom also dies very soon.

These are major Resveratrol side effects which have been reported by the users. In most cases it is found that there are other reasons for side effects, like the patient already being on medication or excess dosage of Resveratrol .It can be concluded that Resveratrol is by and large safe without any significant side effect.

Resveratrol side effects are too rare to talk about. There are people who have taken it any form cannot believe if Resveratrol can have some side effects. However as Resveratrol diet contains a few other ingredients also therefore it can easily have some side effects on people who are allergic or are on some other kind of medication.

Often Resveratrol side effects are noticed only in cases when one consumes it in large quantities. Excess of anything is harmful. The same goes for Resveratrol as well. Once should make sure that correct dosages are taken on time. You cannot speed up the effects of this compound simply by taking it in large quantities. It can cause diarrhea rather than doing any good. There are a few other rare cases of Resveratrol side effects.

  • Those who do not take tea or coffee regularly say that in initial days of Resveratrol diet a high like that of caffeine is felt . It subsided within a few days. Regular tea and coffee drinker do not feel this kind of sensation.
  • Lack sleep or disturbed sleep pattern are also notice in some cases but only during the first few days. It is highly advisable to seek medical assistance if the symptoms persist.
  • Blood pressure fluctuations in those who are taking some medicines.
  • Joint pains like arthritis is also noticed in some people who are 50 plus
  • In the first or second day, mild fever or flu may be noticed in people who have rather weak immune system. Though the symptoms subside within a day or so.

These are the main side effects which are rare and found only in extreme case. One can assume the Resveratrol is a safe over the counter product. You need not seek any medical advice unless you are already on some kind of medication. Even if there is no medications but you feel uncomfortable after taking Resveratrol you must seek expert medical advice. Pregnant women must consult the physician before starting Resveratrol diet.
